I am preparing a book on the painting etching work of my Grandfather "Marcel Grosclaude and take plenty of time for this, this is the reason why I am not present enough on aminus, an exhibition is forecast on july - August in Brittany, on his painting work, born in 1888 boulevard haussmann in Paris, he died in south of France on 1991, nearly 104 years old. Ingenior as his father who was participating on the eiffel tower calculations and building of the lifts, he was also entomologist and first violin in Tunisia Orchestra around 1920-1940, painting took a big place in his life when in was pensionned after 1946.

@Chris Parr: he was very interesting to listen, He ws living in Montmartre when he was young and was speaking when he saw toulouse Lautrec, Valentin le désossé and others picturesques people of this period, with him I was living the end of 19 century and beginning of 20 century.

Je viens de lire rapidement la biographie de cet homme, c'est impressionnant !!!
Malgré la guerre et des soucis de santé, quelle vie extraordinaire !!!
Je comprends que tu lui rendes ce bel hommage, en nous offrant un premier portrait d'une grande douceur !!!!

Quelle belle histoire tu racontes là, quel personnage, ce grand-père, et quel mélange dans ses talents et ses aspirations, ingénieur et peintre, c'est un peu comme expert-comptable et graveur-photographe, non ? :)
J'aime ce portrait pour, outre l'expression douce, ses faux airs de fusains de Van Gogh (ses paysans)

@k@: j'ai également des photos de l'époque en costume également, c'est la coiffe de Douarnenez, en cornouaille, au bout de la Bretagne. Mon grand père était lui, parisien pur jus:))

What a gift to your grandfather. Sometimes I wonder what will happen to my drawings and paintings. I tell my wife "sell them at a garage sale". Actually my wife and children are very supportive of my work. I enjoy viewing "your" images but would also like to view more of your grandfathers drawings.
